What’s on-grid solar system?
An on-grid solar system is a solar power system that is connected to the utility electricity grid. This means that excess electricity generated by the solar panels can be sold back to the grid, and that the grid can be used as a backup source of power when the solar panels are not generating enough electricity.
Why choosing on-grid solar system?
Grid-connected photovoltaics can help you offset your electricity bills and earn income from excess power generation.
However, the situation has changed in recent years, especially for home users with self-use requirements. The high subsidies for grid-connected photovoltaics in the early days are no longer available, and the subsidies for selling electricity to the grid are decreasing. In Australia, it is now only one-fifth of the purchase price. For consumers, this means that it is more cost-effective to store excess electricity rather than feed it back into the grid.
Adding Energy Storage System
That’s why I suggest adding an energy storage system to the grid-connected photovoltaic system. Storing excess electricity is more profitable than selling it to the grid. Moreover, you can take advantage of peak and off-peak electricity prices by using grid power during off-peak hours and solar power and battery storage during peak hours. This is a cost-effective investment.
As shown in the diagram above, you can connect our hybrid inverters to existing household on-grid solar system, which forms an AC-coupling.
- Save more bills Users can use the AC output from the on-grid inverter to meet the electricity needs of secondary load and to power the load when necessary, which can save money on electricity bills.
- Get more profits The surplus power output from our hybrid inverters and the surplus power output from on-grid inverters both can be fed back into the grid for more profits.
- More flexible The AC coupling solution allows for more flexibility in adding or deleting components to existing household solar systems and also supports the modification of existing components in the system. What’s more, with AC-coupling solution, our solar system can be realized at lower future cost and risk.
